We are really excited to have the journals of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) joining us in January 2012. Their three journals: Journalism & Mass Communication Educator; Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly; Journalism & Communication Monographs aim to support the association’s mission to help empower journalism and mass communication educators to encourage widespread research, high standards and ethics for reporting, encourage a multi-cultural society and works reflective of that, as well as to maintain the freedom of communication.
Jennifer McGill, AEJMC Executive Director said about the move “As we considered our options, we found SAGE’s ideas to promote our research and expand its reach, especially internationally, to be the best fit for us. As AEJMC celebrates its 100th year in 2012, we will also mark our first year with SAGE as our publisher. As we look back and move forward, it will be a benchmark year for the association.
We are certainly very proud to have been chosen as their new publisher. The journals are integral to AEJMC members and the field of journalism and mass communication education and will fit very well alongside SAGE’s existing strong communication list. Journalism today is changing rapidly and the highest standards are even more important in a world awash with information on the web. It will be a privilege to work with our new partner to help further their mission.
