Scott Van Atta, Senior Graphic Designer at CQ Press, journeyed to San Francisco for the Publishing Professionals Network 44th Annual Book Show. There, Van Atta mingled with book industry professionals, celebrated achievements in Western book design and collected awards on behalf of his company and team.

This year, SAGE was honored by the Publishing Professionals Network’s recognition of two books that each won in two categories: cover and design. The first winner was Corwin’s The Best-Kept Teaching Secret with Rose Storey as its Associate Art Director and CQ Press’s Perspectives on International Relations, which Van Atta personally worked on.

During the show, Van Atta networked with industry professionals and had time to take a look at all of this year’s remarkable entries that decorated the room with their artful designs.

“I had a great time,” stated Van Atta “and, after looking over a few books with who turned out to be the PPN President, I was even invited to be on the judging panel for next year’s show (though I can’t judge my own!).”

We can’t wait until next year’s ceremony!
