Last week, we were delighted to announce that AERA Open, a new scholarly journal from the American Educational Research Association (AERA), is now accepting article submissions (read the full announcement here).
In an inaugural editorial about the journal, its new editors – Mark Warschauer, Greg Duncan, and Jacquelynne Eccles – discussed what it means to really be open for this journal. Their answer includes four important points:
1. Open to readers and authors
2. Open to disciplines and contexts
3. Open to inspection and replication
4. Open and accessible to a broad audience
