Corwin Partners with the Council of Chief State School Officers

Corwin CEO Mike Soules and Corwin Editorial Director Lisa Shaw  are in Washington DC for the next few days attending the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) Legislative Conference. Fred Bramante, a Corwin author of Off the Clock and a member of the New Hampshire state board of education, is also a featured speaker. The group is representing Corwin, a SAGE Company,  to help promote a new partnership Corwin has with Council of Chief State School Officers.

The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) is the organization responsible for developing and implementing the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which have been adopted by 44 states and the District of Columbia. The Common Core standards are widely known in education, but many teachers have said they aren’t prepared to teach them. Corwin was one of the first publishers to have materials prepared to help teachers with this change in curriculum.

Beginning in April, Corwin resources aligned with or designed to support CCSS implementation will be marked with a special graphic on the company website and in catalogs. We’re excited to have this great new partnership!
