Looking for a good book to read? Corwin’s got some recently recognized ones

Corwin, a SAGE company, focuses its book lists on helping primarily K-12 teachers on their professional development and issues they face today. Their books and authors are widely loved for their handling of so many topics that teachers struggle with. Two Corwin authors were recently recognized by Library Media Connection (LMC) magazine for their “significance and value in a school setting.”

LMC’s annual Editor’s Choice list of best reviewed titles included the works of authors Lori Langer de Ramirez  and Jessica K. Parker.

Lori Langer de Ramirez  is currently the chairperson of the ESL and World Language Department for Herricks Public Schools and the author of Empower English Language Learners With Tools From the WebShe is the recipient of the Nelson Brooks Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Culture; several National Endowment for the Humanities grants for study in Mexico, Colombia, and Senegal; and a Fulbright Award to India and Nepal.

Jessica K. Parker is an assistant professor at Sonoma State Unviersity and the author of  Teaching Tech-Savvy Kids: Bringing Digital Media Into the Classroom, Grades 5-12. She’s also been published in scholarly journals and presented in the AERA annual meeting.
