SAGE Authors Given BSA/C-SAP Award for Excellence in Teaching Sociology

We are happy to report that Professor Malcolm Williams and Dr. Geoff Payne, two SAGE authors from Newcastle University, were recently awarded this year’s British Sociological Association (BSA) and Anthropology and Politics (C-SAP) Award for Excellence in Teaching Sociology. This national award was given earlier this month at the 2012 BSA Annual Conference at the University of Leeds. The Cardiff School of Social Sciences reported about the event here.

Williams and Payne were awarded the prize for years of research on the problems and strategies for teaching quantitative methods in sociology. Last year, Geoff and Malcolm brought together resources and experts from a variety of social science disciplines in the SAGE collection Teaching Quantitative Methods.
