We are absolutely delighted to announce that SAGE has won the inaugural JISC TechDis Publisher Lookup Award for library service. This comes after being highly commended earlier in the year in the first ever JISC TechDis award for reshaping business processes. This second award, for e-text services, recognizes publishers who have been nominated by library staff for their excellent service in supplying books in alternative formats.

JISC TechDis is the leading UK advisory service on inclusion and supports the education sector in achieving greater accessibility by stimulating innovation and providing expert advice and guidance on disability and technology. The Publisher Lookup Awards are the brainchild of Alistair McNaught, senior advisor at JISC TechDis. Alistair said: “There was a really strong field of candidates. Judges were impressed by the sheer number of nominations for SAGE by library staff and the glowing feedback that highlighted their responsiveness, exemplary standards of service and commitment to end users.”

Huw Alexander, SAGE’s Rights & Digital Sales Manager received the award on behalf of SAGE and the Rights team. “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those who kindly voted for us,” said Huw. “The creation of the Publisher Lookup website and the blossoming of the digital space have done so much to open up content to the visually impaired and print disabled. We are keen to utilize these opportunities to provide a better service to our customers. The real winners here are the customers. We will strive to improve our services in the future to make sure that we are as responsive as possible and that our content is even more accessible to those who need it.”
