Reporting from the Charleston Conference

The Charleston Conference is an important event in the calendar with over 1000 librarians and publishers gathering to debate the issues of the day.  Sue Polanka has posted a very good summary of the conference here.

In summary, it seems that everyone now views scholarly publishing to be on the verge of some more changes to electronic dissemination of information, particularly for books.  Whether there will be more impacts on journals is too early to say since they have been available and widely read online for some years.
