On SAGE Insight: Preventing Predictable Problem Behaviors in School Settings

From Beyond Behavior

Precorrection is a simple, cost-effective, and quick intervention to manage predictable behaviors across many contexts/settings, and student ages and ability levels. When implemented with fidelity, precorrection can be an effective way to decrease inappropriate behaviors and increase desired behaviors. This article demonstrates the use of precorrection across settings, including as part of a multiintervention approach with self-management. In addition, precorrections include strategies for academic behaviors and for social behaviors.
