On SAGE Insight: Special Issue: From silence to voice: How organizations can prevent unethical behavior and promote constructive voice at work

Guest editors: Jürgen Wegge, Christine Unterrainer, Thomas Jønsson, Silvia Silva and Michael Knoll

From German Journal of Human Resource Management

When members of an organization express their views in an attempt to change organizational circumstances, it may have a positive influence on individual and collective learning, decision making, and the detection of errors and malfunctions.

This special issue aims to find ways to overcome silence and facilitate voice. The six articles included in the special issue address specific questions relevant to employees’ decision regarding whether to express or withhold their views. An overview precedes the articles and aims to build a bridge between what we know about voice and silence and what we expect to be opportunities for further enriching this knowledge and facilitating its application.
