6 Ways Libraries are Innovating for the Future

We are pleased to share with you the six winning photos of the 2015 Charleston Photo Contest. In honor of the conference’s theme, “Where do we go from here,” we asked this year’s contest entrants to send us a photo showing how their libraries are innovating for the future.

First place winner Emily Correa, Evening Library Clerk at Blue Ridge Community College’s Houff Library, will receive a travel grant for the 2016 Charleston Conference and the five second-place winners each received a $50 Amazon gift card. All six winners will have their photographs featured in the 2015 Charleston Conference Desk Calendar, which will be provided to all conference attendees.

Emily, in her first semester with the University of North Texas MLS program, commented:

“As an aspiring librarian, I am truly honored to receive this prize. I am nearly six months into my position as a Library Assistant for Houff Library at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Virginia, and I am thrilled that our library has received positive attention for what we do.

“At the 2016 Charleston Conference, I hope to learn about successful library systems, innovative programs, and effective ways to reach our patrons. With the fantastic opportunity SAGE is providing, I can truly help our library become a better place for students, faculty, staff, and community members. ”

Congratulations, Emily! We are thrilled that you’ll have the opportunity to learn about other innovative library practices, and share some of your own, at the 2016 Charleston Conference.
